1906 Atlanta Race Riots

One hundred and ten years ago today, in present day downtown Atlanta, a white mob formed and proceeded to murder dozens of black people walking in the streets. That was 1906 - a history that is seldom talked about. Today, in 2016, we mourn the black lives who are victims of violence perpetrated by an overpowered and oppressive police force. Still, 110 years later, systemic racism and the disregard towards black lives catalyzes the state of race in the United States.
